Citizen ash observations
Although there was ash in the snow on Jan 13, no ash fell yesterday Jan. 17 at my home on Kachemak Drive in Homer, about .9 mile from its intersection with East Rd. during the ash advisory 12 noon - 4 p.m. or afterward.
I collected a small amount of ash from the Jan 13 eruptions, but did not follow protocol. Compared to previous eruptions in '86 and '76 I experienced in Anchorage, Jan. 13th was a light ash fall.

Hi Anne - Thank you very much for your great observations. We'll pass them on to all appropriate people. How neat to see 1976, 1986, and 2006 eruptions of Augustine!
