View of Shishaldin from AVO geophysical monitoring site SSLS southwest of the volcano, on June 28, 2014. The upper flanks of the volcano are darkened by ash erupted over the last several months during low-level lava fountaining and small explosions deep in the summit crater. On some days, a plume of steam and gas can be seen in the AVO web camera images.
