Text Description:
Inferred to be a ejected volcanic block. Light gray slightly purplish, fine grained and porous groundmass, in which small feldspars and dark borwn and green hornblende like crystals are readily distinguishable by the naked eye. The texture is uniform, the brown hornblende being the more variable constituent, a single cyrstal nearly half an inch in diameter was observed. The rock is rough to the touch and somewaht firable. Iron ore and augite are present. Apatite occurs sparingly and magnetite is present in poorly defined crystals.
