Description
Volynets and others (1994) describe these submarine peaks, ~25 miles northwest of Chuginadak, as eroded volcanic cones, possibly of young age. They believe that the eroded volcanic cones are of Pleistocene age. Dredge samples of these peaks (V38-24 and V38-25) returned rocks with iron-manganese crusts, including basalt, in addition to probably exotic blocks and fragments of andesite, basaltic andesite, paleotypal volcanics, and sedimentary rocks.
