REDOUBT VOLCANO (VNUM #313030)

The eruption of Redoubt volcano continues. Seismic and thermal data indicate continued growth of a lava dome in the summit crater. Clear views of the volcano today show a steam and gas plume, possibly containing minor amounts of ash, above the volcano moving generally to the south.

AVO field crews are working around the volcano today and are doing equipment maintenance and collecting samples and mapping eruptive products.

Additional explosive events producing ash clouds, ash fall, and mudflows are possible and can occur with little or no warning. AVO will maintain 24/7 operations in order to quickly detect renewed significant explosive activity and other hazardous phenomena.

AVO received no reports of activity at Cleveland during the past 24 hours. Satellite views of the volcano have been cloudy.
