ALASKA VOLCANO OBSERVATORY DAILY UPDATE
U.S. Geological Survey
Thursday, November 19, 2020, 10:49 AM AKST (Thursday, November 19, 2020, 19:49 UTC)

KOROVIN VOLCANO (VNUM #311161)
52°22'54" N 174°9'55" W, Summit Elevation 5030 ft (1533 m)
Current Volcano Alert Level: ADVISORY
Current Aviation Color Code: YELLOW

Low-level seismicity continues at Korovin Volcano. No significant signs of volcanic activity were seen in infrasound sensors or in satellite views over the past 24 hours.

Korovin is monitored by local seismic and infrasound sensors, satellite data, and regional lightning detection instruments.

SEMISOPOCHNOI VOLCANO (VNUM #311060)
51°55'44" N 179°35'52" E, Summit Elevation 2625 ft (800 m)
Current Volcano Alert Level: ADVISORY
Current Aviation Color Code: YELLOW

No significant signs of volcanic activity were detected in regional infrasound sensors or satellite views over the past day. Local seismic data from Semisopochnoi volcano are currently unavailable due to an outage.

Semisopochnoi is monitored by local seismic sensors, satellite data, and regional infrasound and lightning detection instruments. An infrasound array on Adak Island may detect explosive emissions from Semisopochnoi with a slight delay (approximately 13 minutes) if atmospheric conditions permit.
