Broad summit of Makushin Volcano as seen from the north side of Unalaska Island. Smoke from the summit fumaroles is faintly just left of center of summit. The sharp ridges to the right are the result of Pleistocen to Holocene glaciation of the volcano massif. Broad grassy foreground are Holocene andesite that reach the Bering Sea.
