GOES-18 shortwave satellite image of Shishaldin Volcano on 5:30 pm AKDT on August 3, 2023. The bright area is located at the Shishaldin summit and reflects high temperatures of lava erupting at the surface. Satellite image acquired from the data service provided by the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere at Colorado State University.
