Inside the hut at broadband station AKMO on Akutan. Each battery weighs 70 lbs, and broadband seismic stations usually require between 16 and 24 of these batteries to survive through the winter. The electronics and radio sit inside the black masterbox, and the antenna is mounted inside the hut to protect it from wind and wildlife
