Text Description: Sub-sample of 30-cm-thick tephra. Thick, continuous tephra bed within the Upper Gold Hill Loess overlying basement schist and about 3 m below a laminated organic silt containing SD tephra. Lower 14 cm consist of four subhorizontal fining-upward layers, which are covered by 16 cm of reworked tephra. This sample is similar to UT896 (fines upwards and gradually changes from tannish to pinkish, 10YR7/2. Distinct and sub-horizontal contacts between subunits. References: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Location coordinates from Preece and others (2011); coordinates vary slightly from those reported in Jensen and others (2011).
