 Text Description:
Large flow of platy lava overlying sedimentary country-rock. Surface elevation drops before climbing up to Douglas summit, so presumably proximal part of flow has been eroded. Porphyritic two-pyroxene andesite. ~30% phenocrysts of plagioclase (up to 0.9 x 0.6 mm), pyroxene (up to 1.1 x 0.5 mm), and opaque Fe-Ti oxides in a matrix of devitrified glass and subordinate microphenocrysts and microlites. Pl:px ~ 1:1. Glomerocrysts of pyroxene and pyroxene plus plagioclase common. Sieve texture prominent in most plagioclase crystals.
