Text Description:
Hand sample; >20g. 0.75m thick scoria lag - several scoriae merged in one sample. In thick section of volcaniclastics w/ meter scale crude bedding. Monolithologic subrounded dense scoria. Medium gray (50%k); 25%plag - stubby prisms and tablets 1x3mm; 5% cpx - equant, euhedral, to 5mm; <5% other mafic mineral -amphibole?. Groundmass (gms) clean gray, small total void space as tiny (<0.1mm) vesicles.
