Text Description:
Black, mostly aphyric w/ very small plag xtals. On 1992 flow, in plug of flow. Area is still steaming and ground temp is ~65o C. Plug is ~ 25m wide, levees are ~8 m high at greatest depth of plug. Sulfur-looking deposits are actually moss.
