Text Description:
older dome. Porphyritic dacite (S; high-silica andesite G). Strongly flow foliated, contains phenocrysts of plagioclase (An 60) and clinopyroxene in a devitrified groundmass. Minor alterations of phenocrysts in which clinopyroxene alters to bastite and opaque minerals. Abrupt transition in thin section from aphanitic to fine-grained groundmass.
