Text Description: Rhyolite cinder cone and nuee ardente deposits. Cinder cone consists chiefly of unconsolidated rubble of dense glassy blocks, pumiceous scoria, and lapilli. Nuee ardente deposits composed largely of bread-crust blocks in a matrix of unconsolidated ash and lapilli. Rocks are buff to light gray and contain rare small hypersthene and plagioclase phenocrysts in a plagioclase-rich hyalopilitic or glass matrix. References: ![]() |
