Sample ID:94SJP104C
Station ID:94SJP104C
Latitude:62.41379182
Longitude:-143.0901906
Datum:NAD83
Date Sampled:1994-00-00
Sample Type 1:Other
Sample Type 2:Enclave/Inclusion
Text Description:
Float boulders in Fossil Creek Bed. Sample is an inclusion in the dacite host. The sample is divided into 3 parts: the host 94SJP104A (nD2), the inclusion, the interior of the inclusion with abundant calcite. The contact between the host and the inclusion is sharp and is not melted. the inclusion is fine grained and equigranular with a matrix of calcite filling voids. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An38-An54) are up to 1.05 mm, and some have sieve textures, resorbed edges or oscillatory zoning; most have normal zoning. Amphibole phenocrysts are up to 0.9 mm and have dehydrated or partially dehydrated to aggregates of opaques. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 1.1 mm and rarely have amphibole rims (now partially dehydrated). Opaque phenocrysts are up to 0.23 mm.
