Text Description: Approximately 10’ thick vertical dike cutting up through silicic material Dome A at Site 2. Fine-grained, holocrystalline, porphyritic with a matrix of mesostasis, opaque, plagioclase and alteration. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An30 - An58) are up to 3.45 mm and some have complex zoning with prussian blue extinction, resorption embayments; both twinned and untwinned grains are present.
