View of the northwest flank of Wrangell volcano with a dark stripe of probable redistributed ash extending from one of the summit cinder cones (West Crater?). The photo was taken at Mile 20 of the Tok Cutoff (Hwy 1), between Gakona and Slana. Strong north winds were reported. Note the steam plume rising from skyline saddle left of ash deposit.
