The circular depression in the center of view, on the high southern flank of Kliuchef volcano (high peak to the left) is interpreted as a previously unmapped vent; the feature was encountered by Janet Schaefer (AVO/ADGGS) and Michelle Coombs (AVO/USGS) during the 2019 field mapping project of the Atka volcanic complex. Photo taken from station 19AAJRS009. A sample from spatter lava blocks was taken from the WNW rim of the crater at station 19AAJRS008, visible in this photo on the left rim of the depression.
