SEM image of ash particle from the June 27, 1992 eruption of Spurr Volcano. The sample was collected by Charles Elmore, a local Anchorage resident, immediately after the ashfall. The image was acquired using JEOL 8350f electron microprobe at the Advanced Instrumentation Laboratory, University of Alaska Fairbanks.
