The active lava flow at the summit of Great Sitkin Volcano is viewed from the south. The lava has been filling the summit crater and sent lobes spilling down the southwest and western flanks in 2021 (partially snow covered). The active part of the lava flow (darker, less snow covered) is currently confined to the summit crater, advancing into a summit glacier to the east (right flow margin in this picture) and to the south (toward the camera), where it is nearing the crater rim.
