This TROPOMI data from the afternoon of July 18, 2023 shows the amount of sulfur dioxide (SO2) detected in the atmosphere. The plume emitted by the July 18 eruption of Shishaldin Volcano is visible as the red and orange elongate patch downwind of the volcano.
