Mount Griggs stratovolcano, Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes. At 7,650 ft (2,330 m) ASL, Mount Griggs is the highest peak in Katmai National Park and Preserve. It lies 12 km behind the main volcanic front, and its summit is home to superheated sulfur-precipitating fumaroles.
